About

Howbury Farm Flowers is run by Lucy out of a beautiful early 19th century walled garden in Bedford. We are now in our 10th year of growing beautiful, seasonal flowers at Howbury, just as they have been grown for centuries in the walled garden.  It was a combination of serendipity coupled with a desire to make a small difference to our carbon footprints that set us on the path of flower growing.

We are passionate about pesticide-free flowers that are grown with a fully organic approach from seed to stem, working in harmony with the abundant birds, bees and other vital insect life on the farm.  Gentle environmental stewardship pays dividends – our hand-tended garden is resplendent each year with a glorious, natural density of traditional, unusual and hard-to-find seasonal flowers for every occasion.

We supply British flowers seasonally (from March to the first frosts in early November) for florists and members of the public, as well as offering season-led floristry workshops for professionals and amateur flower enthusiasts.  In addition, we provide a full range of floristry services including weddings, events and sympathy flowers.

Our clients, both professional and private,  enjoy a truly individual service, where they are invited to visit the garden and personally select their flowers.  A cup of coffee might be on offer too if we’re not up to our knees in mulch!

"I look forward to receiving my weekly flowers from the farm. I know that they have been cut that morning and carefully chosen for me to create lovely arrangements in my own home."
